On Sunday, my wife & I took a daytrip to Bayfield to see some Tall Ships.

It was a great day!

There were 2 tall ships on display.  We got to walk around and talk to the Petty Officers on one of them.  The other ship was being used to train some new crew members.

These ships are sail training vessels.  The crew are teenagers who have registered for the challenge and adventure of living and working aboard a sailing vessel.

What a neat experience!

As an added attraction,  the Coast Guard had 2 vessels of their own on display.   They also gave a guided tour through one of their vessels.

I missed the formal tour due to talking with the captain instead of moving through with my group.  However,  I did get a quick recap and my own private tour!

Since we were at the beach and it was a warm sunny day,  we kicked off our shoes and stepped into the lake!
